It's A Wrap Baskets - Newberg

Wind, wrap, and sew fabric strips into fantastic containers! Start with a plate shape to learn the technique. Then experiment with four basic container styles to create round, oval, square, and other shapes.

Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Requirements: REQUIRED BOOK: There are two books that are available for this class, you can choose any of the two you wish they are both great and have the same basic information with different projects shown: It's A Wrap by Susan Breier for That Patchwork Place It's A Warp II by Susan Breier for That Patchwork Place FABRIC REQUIREMENTS: Depends on the size of your project, the following will give you a nice medium sized project: Main Fabric: 1/2 to 3/4 Yard Accent Fabric 1/3 Yard, Fat Quarter, or Scraps NOTE: You may find that batiks will work best OR a cotton fabric that is tightly woven. These fabrics will not fray quite so easily. That said you can get some great results with fabrics that fray easily. they'll add a nubbiness to the project that really gives it a hand worked (in the very best sense of the word) look. 50 to 100 Feet of COTTON Clothesline NOTE: If you plan to make a very large project you may wish to get 100 feet. It is very easy to splice two cords together and not have it be noticeable. GENERAL SUPPLIES: Thread to Match, Coordinate, and/or Contrast - Thread WILL Show on BOTH Sides I used variegated threads for my projects. Rotary Cutter and Ruler (your favorite) New Needles: Both 80/12 Sharp and 90/14 Top Stitch - Depends on your machine and/or thread. Fabric Glue Stick or Your Favorite Fabric Glue NOTE: Liquid glues are not quite as easy to work with. Seam Ripper (I like the Clover one) Clear Applique' Foot AND/OR Open Toe Foot Both of these feet are helpful but if you can only get one I'd go with the Open Toe Foot as it is the most versatile for other projects also. Free Hand/Knee Lift Lever if Your Sewing Machine is so Equipped is Very Handy Extension Table or Plexiglas Table if You Have One for Your Machine Sewing Machine in Good Working Order Sewing Machine Bobbins, Regular Sewing Foot, Power Cord, Foot Pedal, Manual
