Radiant Suns - Quilt
Want to make quilts with curved piecing? Now is your chance!
Join us for a 6-hour class where you will learn an easy no-pin technique to create beautiful smooth curved seams. With your choice of fabric you can have suns radiating or simply an array of beautiful colors! With contrast, the curves will really show up.
Supply list:
- Sewing machine in good working order with an accurate 1/4" foot and a new needle
- Basic sewing kit with all the necessary sewing tools
- Rotary cutter with new blade
- Cutting mat - 12 x 18 or larger
- Pins - just in case
- Thread - a neutral color for all your fabrics
- Pattern - Radiant Suns by Cara Gulati
- Templates which can be purchased from the store
You can use any type of fabric, from cottons to batiks. The colors can blend, can be contrast, or several color ways. It is your quilt and your choice. The design is pretty swirly so you might want to consider that when selecting your prints. However, stripes create a very dramatic design. Anything will work. It might be an opportunity to think outside the box and choose something very different for you. Throw caution to the wind. Bright colors are fun and even flannels work.
Yardage for 52" x 66" quilt which is 24 blocks:
- 12 fabrics - 1/4 yard or fat quarters, or more (You can get two blocks from each piece.)
- 1 1/4 yard for border
- 1/2 yard for binding
