Bernina Software Building Blocks



Each month’s lesson will dive into a new feature of the BERNINA Designer PLUS and Creator (when applicable) software and show you how to use that tool to the max. Supporting new and existing software users alike, These lessons are sure to open up a new world of embroidery possibilities with the help of our latest software, Version 9.

This class can be taken virtually or in person. Your virtual link will be emailed to you once you sign up.

Each class has lesson handouts, videos, files, artwork and more. Class material will be emailed to you on its release date from BERNINA but you may purchase the program at anytime. 



Lesson Titles, Descriptions and Class Dates:


Lesson 1 - Let's Play with Lettering (Basic Building Block  - Lettering)  Friday March 15th, 2024
We will begin the 2024 sessions with the basic building block of lettering.  Learn the basics of editing lettering through Object Properties to create a recipe towel; then create a doodle alphabet as a fun font to use on your projects.


Lesson 2 - Maximize Your Designs through Editing (Basic Building Block  - Editing)  Friday, April 19, 2024
Learn the basics of editing a design through Object Properties and then dive deeper into additional fun ways to edit a design to make it your own.


Lesson 3 - Playing with Offsets (Basic Building Block - Adding Outlines)  Friday, June 14, 2024
Learn the ins and outs of using offsets in the Edit Toolbox.  For the more advanced lesson, we will dive into creating outlines in CorelDRAW.


Lesson 4 - Creative Techniques (Basic Building Block - Creative Tools in the Software)  Friday, August 23, 2024
Explore the creative tools in BERNINA Software 9.  We will begin with some basic information on pattern stitches and how to edit them.  The advanced lesson will include information on creating stitch recipes as well as creating a fun technique called stain glass embroidery.


Lesson 5 - Reverse Applique (Basic Building Block - Applique)  Friday, October 25, 2024
We will begin the lesson with a review of the applique tools in Software 9 and then progress to how to create a simple reverse applique design.  The advanced lesson will cover how to create reverse applique using the Advanced Applique tool.


Lesson 6 - Capturing Memories (Basic Building Block - Auto Digitizing) Friday, December 20, 2024
Explore the tools in the software to help capture your special moments.  In the advanced lesson, we will explore the tools in Corel PHOTO-PAINT for working with photos.
