Rope Bowl Basics - TIGARD - With Julie

Come and learn the basics of rope bowl making.

You will learn:
*how to use plain rope to make a bowl/basket
*how to wrap fabric to make a colorful bowl
*how to alter your plain bowl into a cat, pig or add handles.

You will need:
--Rope.  3/8" or 1/4" works best in most machines. We have natural colored cotton clothesline here at the store.  The stronger the rope the more rigid your bowl will be.
--Sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch.
--Denim or strong needles.  You may break one or two!
--1" strips of fabric if you want to wrap the rope.
--Fabric scraps big enough to cover the bottom of your bowl if you want to line it.
--Thread, you will use a lot. (you can match your rope color or have it contrast)
--Stick Glue if fabric wrapping.
