Midnight Garden with Tsukineko Inks

Join Jaimie for an engaging workshop focused on painting a beautiful dragonfly on fabric.  Throughout the workshop, students will explore color mixing, brushwork, and fabric preparation, ensuring that each participant feels confident in their skills. This workshop promises to be a delightful and creative experience!

All materials will be provided, including fabric, paints, and brushes. No prior experience is necessary; all skill levels are welcome.

Midnight Garden supply list

Kit Supplies:
• Midnight Garden Pattern
• Dragonfly panel
• 12" x 15" piece of freezer paper
• 1 small paintbrush
• 1 really small paintbrush
• Painter’s Palette
• 5 Stir sticks
• Liquitex Iridescent textile medium
• Clear aloe vera gel for use with Tsukineko Inks
• Paper towel
• Scratch sheet

Students Bring:

• A paint shirt or apron to protect clothing from paint
Materials Needed to Complete the Quilt Top:
• 1⁄4 yard each of 4 different green fabrics
• Fat quarter of pink fabric (you need the width of a fat quarter)
• Scraps of yellow and mustard fabrics
• Enough pink fabric to piece together a 1” x 80” strip of fabric on the bias

OR:

If you prefer to paint your background pieces

• 3⁄4 yard of PFD fabric
• 3⁄4” paintbrush (or something similar)
• Supplemental ink kit for flowers and greenery (www.loopytulips/shop)
Also Needed to Complete the Quilt Top:
• 26” x 28” length of black fabric
• 28” x 37” length of border fabric
• 12” x 2 yds of your favorite fusible web (I like steam-a-seam)
• Matching thread for each of your fabrics
• Double Stick Fusible Web (12” x 2 yds) – I like Steam-a-Seam
• Freezer paper (18” x 60”)
• Sewer’s Awl
• Tape
• Light box
